  Vols to Battle PSU...Again
After much speculation we now know where we're going and who we will see on January 1. The Nittany Lions will provide a solid opponent in Tampa New Years Day. We last saw them in 93 in the Citrus Bowl, a game we were very much in until the wheels fell off. PSU pulled away in the 2nd half and won 31-13. Sadly two years earlier we met as well and the Lions won even more decisively 42-17 in a game that went South quick after halftime due to turnovers. The only other meetings prior to these were in '71 and '72, both UT victories. UT is 2-4 in bowl games since the 98 Championship, we really need a win in this one to set up a good recruiting season. The cash that comes with the game can't hurt either, especially after missing out last year. Penn State will be solid, I think our team speed and aerial attack, and our strong secondary get it done, UT 38-PSU 17.

What Hurt UT Most In 06?
Looking back at the season I'm curious to hear what the fans thought was our biggest flaw as a team. Coaching? Injuries? My personal thoughts are our defensive struggles in key games, I can't really blame anyone because we suffered alot of injuries, key injuries at that. Our secondary performed well, totaling 16 INT's divided between 6 players. The 17 sacks recorded is probably the most glaring stat I've found so far, and when you consider a LB had the most at 5, 3 of those in one game, that stat tells you we were less than stellar on the Line. A point that was proven by the rushing yards we surrendered late in the season. Not that we didn't have a solid unit, these guys held it down for the most part, but the loss of my hometown hero Justin Harrell was definitely felt. We have a young group returning next year, my wish is that we have a line similar to the Darwin Walker, Will Overstreet and Co days. The talent is there, we just need to make it grow. Hit us with your thoughts.
